What is Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy presents us with a unique opportunity to come together in service of your individual emotional growth. Growth of any kind can be quite uncomfortable, particularly when we are talking about potentially changing lifelong patterns of thoughts, behaviors, attitudes, and outlooks on life. So why would we want to get uncomfortable and change? Well, the answer for many is that our current life circumstances are either unsatisfying, painful, or worse, unbearable. And at least some part of us knows that we are a contributing factor to our own distress. Perhaps we are unsure of exactly how and have a desire to explore our unconscious contributions or maybe we know but have a desire to change our behavior to improve our situation. Either way, one thing is certain, we want to feel better.
MOST of the time, itβs a bit more complicated and nuanced than this. Many of us have been through at least on significantly traumatic experience if not complex and or compounding experiences. If this is the case, I believe we can work together to slowly and safely help you start building a safe present while envisioning a vibrant future.
